Welcome Baby Boomers!  We’re the bunch that grew up watching the test pattern on television while waiting for Howdy Doody, Buffalo Bob, and Clarabell to appear, who crowded school classrooms beyond capacity, and who forced the country to acknowledge that a war fought in the jungles and rice paddies of Vietnam was a mistake.  Our heroes included John Glenn and Robert Kennedy.  The first wave of us is already eligible for Social Security, and Medicare will follow in a few short years.

We Boomers just witnessed something in our country that we have not seen since we were young: the inspiration of a young and energetic man who speaks to the masses as nobody has since John F. Kennedy spoke to our generation.  President Barack Obama’s call to service is reminiscent of JFK’s call to unselfishly do good things for our country, by joining the Peace Corps, for example.

Boomers are heeding this call in different ways.  One couple recently launched a new business in the midst of economic upheaval and uncertainty.  After careers in Houston, Kansas City, and West Virginia, they felt that it was time to change direction and start something new – something that would benefit those who desire economically and ecologically smart and useful products.

Their company, www.bearwobble.com, contains practical, hard-to-find, quality eco-friendly products that are made by socially responsible companies located in the United States whenever possible.  They have thoroughly researched each product and plan to continually refine the store, test new products, and add more.

Did you know that AA alkaline batteries can actually cost over 1,000 times more in the long run than NiMH Low Self Discharge rechargeable batteries?  These aren’t those old rechargeables that seem to hold a charge for about ten minutes – these are great!  Not only are they environmentally friendly, but they are much more economical.  The folks at Bearwobble.com have found a great alternative to the battery problem we all have.  Not only do they sell these batteries, but they also sell battery chargers, battery testers, and battery shells.

Since the inauguration of Barack Obama, we are seeing more American flags flying. Bearwobble.com offers a superior nylon sewn and embroidered American made flag that is flying off their shelves.  Cheaper polyester flags don’t hold up as well as these well made nylon flags.

Bearwobble.com also offers the Bare Bar that is made in the USA, LED pocket flashlights, crank radios, glass nail files, and they will offer a new and useful e-book about creating backyard habitats later this spring.

Good luck to Bearwobble.com as they continue to add more products and do their part to ensure that consumers don’t waste money on products that just aren’t very good – not good for us and not good for our planet – by giving us truly good alternatives.
